Taylor of Campbell, Kathy (Mrs Dale) Taft of Lindley, Winifred Roloson of Addison and Janet Townsend of Mainsburg, Pa; One Brother Daniel of Syracuse; and 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Calling hours were Thrusday evening in Phillips Funeral Home inc, 17 W. Pulteny St, Corning with a prayer vigil at 8:45 pm. the prayer vigil will continue 1-2 pm today there with a Mass of Christian burial at 2pm today in the chapel of the funeral home, the Rev. Murphy. 61. of 232 Slawson Drive. Camillus, died Monday at his home after a long illness in Syracuse. Mr. Murphy lived in Camillus for 20years. He was a foreman for the General Electric Co., retiring in 1980 after 35 years with the manufacturer. Mr. Murphy was a member of Fairmount Community Church and the General Electric 25-Year Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife. Frances Tork Murphy; four sons, Lawrence P. of Central Square, Dennis F. of Houston. Texas. Thomas J. of Plymouth, Mass.. and Timothy G. of Camillus; his mother. Hazel Strevy of Auburn: two brothers. William F. of Windley and Daniel J. of Syracuse; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus, the Rev. P.V. George officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood-Morningside Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today (Aug. 21) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Frances J. Murphy, 83, of Camillus, died Monday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she graduated from Vocational High School. Frances was employed by G.C. Murphy's in Camillus for more than 10 years and was formerly employed by GE. Frances loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed genealogy. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. (1984) and sons, Robert James, Jr. (1974), Lawrence Patrick (1989) and Dennis Francis (1988). Surviving are her sons, Thomas J. (Terry) of Skaneateles and Timothy G. (Tammy) of Syracuse; brother, Louis "Fred" Tork of Camden; sisters, Rose (Fred) Osborn of Myrtle Beach, SC and Margaret St. John of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Melissa, Lisa, Jamie, Jason, Michael, Nicole and Kendra; stepgrandchildren, Kevin and Cassandra; and several great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
