SPRING GROVE Carl W. Jones, 90, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the home of his daughter. Mr. Jones was the loving husband of Bernice A. (White) Jones, who died October 27, 2005. Born April 14, 1918, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Milton) Jones. In his youth, Carl was an accomplished musician, and as a soldier during World War II, played trumpet in Army concert bands. He was a tool and die model maker for 40 years, having worked for Carrier and General Electric in Syracuse. He was a volunteer with the East Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department and a life member of the NRA. Mr. Jones was a Free and Accepted Mason. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, bowling, and smoking good cigars. Carl is survived by a son, Wayne W. Jones and his wife, Sandra of Gansevoort, N.Y.; a daughter, Cynthia L. Spier and her husband, Jack of Spring Grove; seven grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary C. Jones. A memorial service to remember and honor Carl's life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. She was the wife of Carl W. Jones to whom she was married 65 years and with whom she raised three children in the Syracuse, N.Y., area. Born June 8, 1919, Plainsville, Pa ., she was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Thompson) White. Bernice was a member of Franklin Park United Methodist Church of East Syracuse, N.Y. She volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program of East Syracuse. Mrs. Jones retired from General Electric of Syracuse, N.Y., after several years of service as a lab technician. In addition to her husband, Carl, Bernice is survived by one son, Wayne W. Jones and his wife, Sandy L. Jones of Gansevoort, N.Y.; one daughter, Cynthia L. Spier and her husband, Jack W. Spier of Spring Grove; seven grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Charles L. White of East Syracuse, N.Y.; and three sisters, Marjorie Ayre of Temple, Texas, Florence Roxby of Inkerman, Pa ., and Ellen Byle of Waldorf, Md. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary C. Jones, formerly of Pueblo, Colo.; four brothers, William White, Leo White, James White and Henry White; and four sisters, Miriam White, Gladys Harding, Charlotte Forcey and Jean Eimes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2005, at St. David's (Sherman) United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, with the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. D.C. Jones dies at 67 in hospital DURHAMVILLE - David C. Jones, 67 of Fox St, died yesterday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse where he had been a patient for the past six days. Jones was born in Cazenovia. Aresident of Durhamville the past 24 years he was a heavy equipment operator for the madison county Hhighway Department. He was married to the former Margaret Ennis. Club membership included the Durhamville Veterans Club, Beterans of World War1, Barracks No 60, Sherrill and the Durhamville volunteer Fire Department. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Miss Mary Bissnett, E. Syracuse, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 9am Saturday atthe Camppbell Dean Funeral Home, 360 Main St. Ineida and at 9:30 am at St Francis Church. where a requiem high Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 pm and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Born in Oneida, she lived in the area all of her life. She was employed by the Sherrill Auto Club as a travel counselor and previously had worked in the sales department of the Oneida Limited, Silversmiths. Mrs. Bohrer was a communicant of St. Helena's Church, Sherrill. She was active in the bowling and golfing leagues of the Community Associated Clubs. She was a member of the Utica District of the Women's Golf Association and participated in Brownies and Girl Scouts as a troop leader. Surviving are her husband, Harold A.; a son, Robert H. of Oneida; a daughter, Linda Bohrer-Yardley of Oneida; three grandchildren; and a cousin. Services will be 11 a.m. in St. Helena's Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated by Monsignor John R. Madden, pastor. Spring burial will be in St. Helena's Cemetery.
