FRED D. TIERNEY: Chittenango: Fred D. Tireney 66 of Bolivar Rd. Chittenango RD 2 died early Wednesday morning in Lenox Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Chittenango Mr Tierney was the son of Peter and Anna Jones Tierney. He married the former Veronica Byrne in Syracuse on Aug 21 1920. He had been a farmer in the Chittenango area for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters Miss Helen Tierney at home, Mrs John House and Mrs Russell Mitchell both of Chittenenago, Two sons, Fred and Paul Tierney. Syracuse Herald-Journal, Tuesday, March 17, 1981 Veronica Tierney CHITTENANGO — Mrs. Veronica B. Tierney, 84, of Bolivar Road, died yesterday at home. She was born in 1896 to Fred and Nora Ryan Tierney. Mrs. Tierney was graduated from Cortland Normal School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Chittenango Pitch Club. Surviving are two son:-;, Fred of Spring Valley and Paul of Binghamton; three daughters Helen, Mrs. Mary R. Mirtoyne and Mrs. Grace Northing, all cf Chittenango; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 10a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the family residence. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church. Arrangement::, are by the Bruce G. He retired from Chase Manhattan Bank. Binghamton. Survivors: His wife. Inez A.; two sons. Paul J. of Binghamton and Thomas F. of Virginia Beach. Va.: two sisters. Peter Tierney: Following and Illness of several weeks Peter Tierney Passed away Wednesday Afternoon at
his home at Bolivar. Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday morning at 9:30 and from St
Patrick's Church here at 10 am Rev Francis Horrigan of St. Patrick's will officiate, assisted by Father
Shaugnessey and Father McCarthy both of Canastota. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Agnes Cemetery.
Peter Tierney was born December 28, 1860. He was the son of Patrick and Catherine Hart Tierney. On April
10,1886, he married Anna Jones of Cazenovia. She survives him as do also two daughters, Mrs. Mae Babcock
of Canastota and Mrs. Albert Osborne of this town; also three sons, Patrick J. Tierney and Edward P Tierney of
Syracuse and Fredrick Tierney of Bolivar, who operates the family farm. There are ten grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. Surviving also are one brother Patrick J Tierney of Syracuse and four sisters, Mrs. Jane
Kinney , Mrs Catherine Welch and Miss Clarissa Tierney of Syracuse and Sister Catherine a member of the
order of Sisters of Charity of Philadelphia, Pa. Mr Tierney was a farmer throughout his life and was known as
successful in his work and also as a kind,m thoughtful neighbor and a generous and devoted husband and
father He was highly respected and esteemed by ll who knew him
